The Government has been called to support a mixed tenure development in Santry, Dublin.
Sinn Féin is seeking between 600 to 700 homes to be developed on the Oscar Traynor Lands.
Councillor for Santry Noeleen Reilly recently met with the Lorcan Residents Association and Dublin City Council to discuss the issue.
She said: "Residents have been promised many different developments on this land over the last twenty years, all to fall at the final hurdle.
"This cannot be allowed to happen once more especially given the current demand for housing in the capital.
"Dublin City Council has commissioned a community Audit Report as well as a Traffic Study all in preparation for building on this land in Santry.
"Sinn Féin wants mixed tenure estates with social, affordable rental and affordable sale, delivered fully by the council and funded fully by the state.
"The sale of the affordable private units as well as increased rental income can help fund future development in other parts of the city."
