Call For Irish Water To Resolve Ongoing Sewerage Problems In Ferbane

Sinn Fein is urgently calling on Irish Water to resolve ongoing sewerage problems affecting residents in Ferbane, Co Offaly.

TD Carol Nolan said some residents living on the Ballyclare Road have been forced to move out of their homes due to the strong odour coming from nearby manholes.

She said: "I have raised this issue with Irish Water on numerous occasions and I am aware that it has tried to resolve the issue through a number of methods.

"Unfortunately, to date, none of these have been successful and some residents complain that the issue has got worse.

"Irish Water must immediately intervene with a long term solution that will address this issue once and for all.

"Removing the sewage by road to a treatment plant or the extension of a pipeline to Ferbane must be considered."
