FF Votes Against SF Motion To Scrap Water Charges

Fianna Fáil has voted against a Sinn Féin motion to scrap water charges in Ireland.

Sinn Féin TD for Limerick and party spokesperson for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Maurice Quinlivan has accused Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael of ignoring ordinary people who are opposed to the charges.

He said: "The only reason water charges have not been abolished before now is because of their political manoeuvring.

"Fianna Fáil's aim is to get as much political capital out of this issue as possible and their sly approach to water charges is there for all to see.

"This is business as usual for them as their quest for political power is once again put before the needs of ordinary people."
