Preparation work on a new school in Bullymun, Dublin, has been completed.
Children attending the Gaelscoil Bhaile Munna will no longer be using prefabs after today, 30 September, and are moving in to temporary accommodation while construction work begins on the new school.
Ballymun Sinn Féin Councillor Noeleen Reilly said: "Many parents thought this day would never come, so it is with great relief that the School have advised parents that they will be moving into temporary accommodation from next week.
"For decades Parents, Teachers and former pupils campaigned for a permanent School building in Coultry Ballymun.
"Children will be taught in the CDETB on Ballymun Road for the next year while the new school is being built.
"I look forward to the opening of the new school which will comprise of 12 classrooms, 19 on-site car parking spaces 60 cycle spaces, new hard play areas, bin enclosure and 2 basketball courts, all to the side and rear of the new school building."
