Sinn Féin is calling for almost 200 empty properties at an army site in Ballykinler, Co Down, to be made available to the public.
Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard said the site should be transferred to the NI Executive.
He said: "The 199 empty houses at the British army site at Ballykinler should be available to the public to help address the need for housing in the local area.
"In fact Sinn Féin wants to see the entire site, including the sections which continue to be used by the British army and the police as a firing range, vacated by the British military.
"The site should then be transferred to the Executive so that it can be used for the benefit of the entire community."
