Production at a water treatment plant in Williamstown, Galway, has temporarily been stopped following a contamination incident.
Irish Water and Galway County Council are currently working on the issue and tankers of drinking water from an alternative supply were distributed across the community on Monday, 17 October.
The tankers are located at the Square, Smyth's Petrol Station on the Dunmore Road, and at the Parochial Hall on the Ballymoe Road.
Irish Water's Operations Lead for Galway, Ger Greally, said: "Irish Water are confident of having the treatment plant back in production this evening, 18 October, with a full supply of drinkable water available in the network by tomorrow morning,19 October."
