Council Urged To Apply For Funding To Improve Balbriggan Harbour

Fingal County Council is being urged to apply for funding to improved Balbriggan Harbour.

Sinn Féin TD for Dublin Fingal Louise O'Reilly made the call after no application was made by the council under the annual Fishery Harbour & Coastal Infrastructure Development Programme in 2017.

She said: "Vital funding streams, such as this, should not be neglected when you consider the work that current users of Balbriggan Harbour are seeking to have done to enhance it, both practically and aesthetically.

"The Harbour is a vital economic driver in the town and surrounding areas, and it is inherent that the Council are availing of funding where it is available, so as to support this growth."
