Sinn Féin has hit out at the Government for failing to make available funding for the construction of the Ardee Bypass.

Imelda Munster TD confirmed the land has already been acquired, however the Government has not included it in the capital investment programme.

Deputy Muster said: "It is simply not good enough for the government to not prioritise this link road given the daily congestion in Ardee."

In response to Deputy Munster, an official from TII gave a commitment to submit the project to the department's midterm review plan for funding to be allocated in the capital investment program.

She concluded: "I fully intend to pursue this matter until the project is completed."
