The development of the A5 major road scheme is a "national priority" for Sinn Féin, according to MLA Declan McAleer.

The A5 Western Transport Corridor in the North West will provide a road link between L'Derry, Strabane, Omagh and Ballygawley.

Mr McAleer said: "What people have to realise is that we are dealing with a history of neglect and discrimination West of the Bann.

"It will also unlock the potential for future economic development of these areas, including Counties Donegal and Monaghan and will create immediate employment with over 1,000 jobs for the construction industry alone."
