Sinn Féin has slammed South Dublin County Council (SDCC) after tenants on a window replacement scheme are being forced to wait up to five years to get new ones installed.
A total of 775 homes are on the waiting list and many of the houses are over 30 years old.
TD for Dublin Mid-West Deputy Ó Broin said a five year wait is "totally unacceptable".
He said: "The Council has run a window replacement scheme for the last number of years. Tenants apply for an inspection and if the windows are graded 5 they go on a waiting list.
"In recent years, the length of time a family is waiting for replacement has increased from two years up to five years. This is due to a significant increase in the number of inspections without any corresponding increase in funding.
"Since 2012, a total of 580 houses have had their windows replaced with 90 in 2016 and 134 in 2015.
"There are now 775 families on the waiting list. There are many more who have not been inspected but whose windows also need replaced.
"The Council has confirmed to me in writing that they are currently replacing windows inspected and graded in 2012. This is totally unacceptable."
