Belfast City Council is to hold a number of public drop in sessions to discuss plans for a new park which is being created in west Belfast.
The park, which will be built in the Colin area on the Stewartstown Road, is being developed in partnership with the Urban Villages initiative, a key action within the Northern Ireland Executive's Together: Building a United Community (TBUC) Strategy, designed to foster positive community identities, build community capacity, and improve the physical environment.
Councillor Matt Garrett, Chair of Belfast City Council's People and Communities Committee said: "We want the new park and play park in Colin to be attractive, have identity, and to celebrate natural habitats, local heritage and culture. We want it to be a comfortable, high quality and safe shared space which is well linked with surrounding neighbourhoods, and to be a place that can be used throughout the year. And most importantly, we want the designs to reflect the needs of the people who will be using and enjoying the park."
The park will offer a range of recreational facilities for all age groups and abilities, offering three main active zones.
