The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ulster Farmers Union and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) has been welcomed by Sinn Féin.

MLA Caoimhe Archibald said it puts a focus on advocacy and communication and will help support farmers in ensuring compliance to environmental standards, as well as hopefully reducing the need for enforcement.

She said: "Our agricultural produce is renowned for its quality and that is due in part to the standards imposed. Helping farmers to achieve these can only be a positive development in driving more sustainable and efficient farming."
