A water restriction has been put in place in Tully and Letterfrack.
Irish Water made the announcement due to the unseasonably dry weather conditions resulting in historically low water levels for this time of year.
The utility is imposing water restrictions on the schemes from 11pm to 7am, effective immediately.
Working in partnership with Galway County Council, Irish Water is asking people supplied by the public water schemes to conserve water as much as possible.
Irish Water and Galway County Council issued an apology to residents.
