Around 3,500 consumers have been left without water in Galmoy and Rathdowney following a mechanical failure of a pump at the Galmoy Water Treatment Plant.
Irish Water is currently working to fix the pump and the supply is expected to restored by noon today, 24 July.
To address the temporary shortage, a standing pipe is available at the Johnstown National School in Johnstown, Co Kilkenny from 9am until 8pm.
Customers are reminded to bring clean containers and to boil water taken from these stations before use, as a precaution.
Irish Water apologised for any inconvenience caused.
