Contractor Quinn Automatic is to start work on a sewer rehabilitation scheme in Coalisland, Co Tyrone.
In partnership with NI Water the work in the Coalisland area is to begin at the start of August and is expected to take around eight weeks to complete.
Previous investigation works were carried out to identify any defects within the existing sewerage system. The work is programmed to be completed prior to the commencement of Public Realm works within the Coalisland area.
The majority of the works will be undertaken during normal working hours. However, due to their location, and in order to minimise disruption to businesses, road users and the public, it may be necessary for some work to be undertaken during evening/night time hours. We will do everything within our means to keep noise levels to a minimum during these times.
Where possible the work will be carried out using 'no-dig' trenchless techniques to minimise disruption, although at some locations ‘open-dig’ will be necessary due to the condition of the existing sewers.
Once complete, the project will provide the local community with improved sewerage systems that are less prone to failure from blockages and sewer collapses and will also reduce the risks of 'out of sewer' flooding and environmental pollution.
