The Green Party wants to see an increase in investment in renewable energy to reduce climate footprint in Northern Ireland.
East Belfast Councillor Georgina Milne and Party Secretary Rowan Tunnicliffe made the announcement after they met with Harland and Wolff Ltd. to discuss how the party can work with local businesses involved in the renewable energy industry.
Councillor Milne said: "The Green Party and companies involved in the renewable energy market have many common aims and objectives. Our message is clear – the Green Party wants to work with business, but not for business.
"Together, through co-operation and partnership we can transform Northern Ireland's economy from one blighted by low wages and insecure jobs to a truly leading economy. This type of economy can also help tackle the threats from climate change and out of control greenhouse gas."
