Construction work has been completed on a new National School in Co Donegal.
Western Building Systems in Co Tyrone recently handed over the keys of Letterkenny Educate Together National School in Ballyraine.
The project forms part of the Department of Education and Skills' wider Rapid Build Schools Delivery Framework.
Shane Taggart, Contracts Director at Western Building Systems commented: "We are delighted to have handed over the Letterkenny Educate Together National School – the school has been totally transformed which will hopefully benefit the surrounding community for decades to come.
"The quality of the build is something we’re really proud of and we couldn’t have achieved it without the dedicated local workforce we employed to assist with the project. We would like to thank the surrounding community for their support throughout the entire construction process."
The project included the construction of a new three-storey building containing 24 classrooms as well as a GP Hall, a library / resource room and other versatile multi-purpose accommodation blocks.
The outside area was transformed to include soft and hard play areas, 3 ballcourts, foot and cycle paths, 36 bicycle spaces contained within shelters, boundary treatments, pedestrian and vehicle access roads and car parking.
Improvements will also provide a more streamlined morning and afternoon pickup experience for parents with the addition of a new separate vehicular entrance and exit road from the link road providing access to a new car park, set down/drop off zone and turning cycle.
