Fianna Fail has called for plans to build a new National School in Co Wicklow to move forward.
TD for Wicklow and East Carlow, Stephen Donnelly, made the call following the approval of a new prefab at Greystones Community National School.
The prefab is to be used for a second junior infant's class in 2018.
The school, which is currently located on the grounds of Greystones Rugby Club, had been faced with the decision to reduce the number of new students that it would take in 2018 if agreement had not been reached.
Deputy Donnelly said: "Having worked with parents to first secure the school, and now on this issue, this development means that there is now space for the growing school in the short term. It's a great result for the parents, children and the school.
"My focus is now on securing a permanent home for the school, and that the new school is built as soon as possible. I have been working closely with the Minister, parents and the school on this issue for a number of months and hope that we will be in a position to move forward soon."
