Work has started to replace 3.5km of old and ageing water mains in Duleek, Co Meath.
The water mains, along the R125 from Duleek Graveyard to Beymore Road, will be replaced with new heavy duty polyethylene (HDPE) and ductile iron pipes.
The work is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete.
William McKnight, Infrastructure Programme Regional Lead at Irish Water said: "This phase of the project will provide a more reliable water supply for customers in Duleek. Ageing water mains are prone to frequent bursts and reduce water pressure to homes and businesses. Investing in our water networks will secure the supply for customers and support future economic development across Meath."
