A Tidy Towns group in Kildare has scooped a prestigious award.

The Broadford Tidy Towns group won an Irish Water Value Award at the SuperValu Tidy Towns awards for the East Midlands region.

Irish Water partners with Tidy Towns and sponsors the Value Water Awards which are aimed at inspiring water conservation at a local level.

The Broadford entry was commended for how the community made efforts to reduce their 'Water Footprint' by placing rainwater harvests around the local area.

Grainne Carey of Irish Water said: "Congratulations to the Broadford Tidy Towns group on winning the Irish Water Value Awards for the East Midlands region. Irish Water is very proud to sponsor the Value Water Awards again this year and we are delighted to see that it inspires water conservation at a local level.
