The Minister for Office and Public Works (OPW) has visited Co Wicklow to see the damage flooding has caused in the area.
Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran viewed coastal erosion at both Murrough and Arklow North Beach.
Fianna Fail TD for Wicklow Stephen Donnelly said: "Minister Moran and the OPW toured both sites, and saw the damage which has been done to both sides. Following on from the Minister's tour of the site, I hope that progress can be made in the near future to fund the works needed to repair the damage done by Storm Ophelia and Brian.
"I look forward to working with the Minister and Wicklow County Council to develop a long-term plan for both areas. There is cross party support for this project, the sooner works begin, the better."
