Construction work to improve or replace leaking water mains in Mayo is to start on Monday, 29 January.
The works will take place on the N83 Tooreen Road and are part of the Ballyhaunis Water Mains Replacement Project.
The benefits to customers are significant improvements in network performance and customer service in terms of supply pressure, security and quality of supply and water pressure.
The works will also see the replacement of a number of old, damaged service connections.
Water Network Regional Lead Dave Murphy, said: "These works will be carried out by Mayo County Council on behalf of Irish Water. The project is expected to be completed in approximately 16 weeks and will deliver significant improvements to customers who have been affected by disruptions to their water supply due to leakage along the pipe."
