Sinn Fein is calling for more contractors to be brought in to help deal with the backlog of housing maintenance issues in Dublin.
TD Dessie Ellis also called for more resources and extra council staff as Dublin City Council is believed to be under "severe pressure".
He said: "There is now an unacceptable backlog of housing maintenance issues as Dublin City Council are struggling to deal with the number of voids that are coming on stream as well as the number of houses coming back to the council that they procured or purchased through Compulsory Purchase Orders .
"The cutbacks of staff in DCC maintenance sections are beginning to take a toll in terms of the delivery of an effective, efficient, and fit for purpose maintenance department.
"Times for the delivery of maintenance are getting longer and longer and the back log of housing maintenance issues is increasing on a daily basis."
