Repairs to a burst watermain in Athlone have been completed and Irish Water has confirmed that customers affected by water outages will return to a normal supply by Wednesday afternoon, 13 February.
A watermain on the Ballymahon Road burst on Tuesday, 12 February, and following repair work the reservoir is now refilling.
In a statement Irish Water said: "When it is sufficiently replenished, the water supply will be turned back on and it is expected that a normal supply will begin to return to customers over the course of the afternoon. However, some customers in higher areas may continue to experience outages or low pressure for a longer period."
