Irish Water has started work to increase water pressure in parts of Crossmolina in Mayo.
Some customers are currently experiencing low water pressure in the Boreen Road and Knockalegan areas due to the recent bad weather.
A planned programme of works, which was agreed prior to Storm Emma, is currently being carried out.
As part of the planned works a leak detection team has been deployed to Crossmolina. Four leaks were repaired over the past week and this work will continue until the demand is at a satisfactory level. In addition to this a 200 metre section of problematic water mains in Kildaverouge will be replaced with works on this due to start imminently. The cumulative impact of these works will increase pressure in the scheme.
