Over 82 sewers have been repaired in the Castleknock area, Co Dublin, in the past two months and upgrade work is expected to continue into early 2019, according to Irish Water.
Upgrade works to the sewer network have also commenced in Blanchardstown and surrounding areas. 90% of sewer cleaning and surveying work has already been completed across the Carpenterstown, Clonsilla, Clonee, Mulhuddart, Blanchardstown Village, Corduff, and Damastown areas.
The Blanchardstown network will have a number of structural defects repaired, such as cracked, fractured and broken pipelines and defective connections.
The majority of the sewer repairs will be carried out by trenchless technology to minimise the impact of the works on the local community.
