Irish Water is to carry out maintenance works in Athlone, Westmeath, which will result in water outage in the surrounding areas.

The work to replace an ageing valve will be carried out at the Battery Heights Reservoir on 23 May.

Water disruptions and outage is expected 6am-10pm in a number of areas including Connaught Street, Main Street, Grace Road, Castle Street, Deerpark, Parnell Square, Pearse Street, Old Galway Road, and Baylough Roscommon Road.

Other surrounding areas in Athlone will also be affected.
