A landfill site is to be redeveloped into a new public park in Kerdiffstown, Kildare.
The project, which has been approved by An Bord Pleanala, will involve developing three all-weather sports pitches, a children's playground, nature and wildlife areas as well as walking routes.
The scheme will also reduce the potential environmental dangers posed from the current landfill site.
Construction is expected to begin during the second half of 2019 and works are projected to take six years to complete.
