Retrofit Design Secures €6.2m Contract For Energy Works In Cork

Retrofit Design has secured a €6.2 million contract to perform deep energy retrofit works in Cork City.

The works will be carried out on 129 apartments in 14 social housing blocks across the city.

The project will improve the fabric of the buildings and include the installation of renewable energy technologies.

DJF Engineering Services and David McGrath and Associates have been selected to design and supervise the works.

The works are part of the Southern Assemblies Regional Operational Plan 2014-2020. Funding is provided by the Department of Finance and the European Unions Regional Development fund under the heading "The shift towards a low carbon economy".

Energy consumption and carbon emissions will be greatly reduced from the apartments when the project is completed.
