The old, damaged pipes are to be replaced with new plastic piping.
The first section of the work is taking place in Muckinagh and will be completed by September. The next stage will begin before the Ross Island bridge and will take approximately two months to complete.

Works will improve water supply, water pressure and reduce leakage in the area.
The project is part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme which will reduce the high level of leakage across the country by fixing or replacing ageing water mains over the next four years.
