A total of 3,526 new dwellings have been built in the first quarter of 2018 in Ireland according to a new report.
The report from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) on New Dwelling Completions (NDC) revealed a steady increase.
Since 2013 the number of new dwellings built has increased each year to stand at 14,446 in 2017.
The report was compiled using an innovative approach to link the best available housing related datasets together, resulting in the most accurate analysis available to date.
In order to produce the report, the CSO linked data from ESBN domestic connections with Building Energy Rating datasets, Revenue datasets, Geodirectory and Census of Population data, using data matching techniques.
