BSG Civil Engineering has started work on a £500,000 sewer infrastructure upgrade in Lisburn.
The six-month scheme involves upgrading the existing sewers on Antrim Street and Antrim Road (rear entrance to Bow Street Mall), and the relocation and upgrade of an existing Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) from Antrim Street into the Antrim Street car park.
The first section of works will be carried out on Antrim Street and Antrim Road (rear entrance to Bow Street Mall), taking approximately five weeks to complete. Once finished, construction will move into the Antrim Street car park and will continue until December. Diversions and traffic management will be in place.
NI Water stated: "Once complete, this investment will significantly improve the existing infrastructure, reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and environmental pollution and protect the water quality in the River Lagan."
