Work is to begin on a water mains upgrade project in Carlow.
Around 600 metres of old and damaged cast iron water mains will be replaced with new piping along Upper Tullow Street.
Work will take place between the Potato Market and the junction of Barrack Street. In addition, new water service connections will be laid from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connect it to the customers' water supply.
The scheme, which is being delivered by Irish Water in partnership with Coffey Northumbrian Ltd, is due to be finished by late August.
