Dungannon-based construction company Western Building Systems has been appointed to Fusion21's £400 million Modular Building Framework.
Those eligible for the framework will now be able to utilise Western's significant experience in the delivery of both temporary or permanent buildings within the health, leisure and education sectors. All buildings within the framework are designed to be compliant with building regulations and present lower carbon emissions than traditional builds.
This appointment comes as the framework has recently completed a £175m expansion.
Nick Verburg, Procurement and Supply Chain Manager at Fusion21 said: "Modular off-site construction is an innovative and cost-effective way to deliver buildings for the 21st century, and we are delighted to have expanded this flexible procurement solution in response to market demand and member feedback."
Western's MD, Declan McCloskey added: "We are delighted to have secured a place on Fusion21's Modular Building framework. Fusion21 has established a sterling reputation within the industry due to the consistently high standards maintained by its members project after project and we are very much looking forward to being part of it.
"At Western we have long been advocates of frameworks as a means of streamlining the procurement process for large scale projects.
"Frameworks are easier to use, reduce transaction costs and encourage continuous improvement within long-term relationships. Therefore, they are much better value for money long term compared to traditional procurement models."
