Design Team To Collaborate Documentation For Hospital Refurbs

The HSE has confirmed that the Design Team is currently putting together documentation for the planning applications to refurbish Millstreet and Kanturk Community Hospitals in Cork.

Fianna Fáil TD for Cork North West, Michael Moynihan, said the planning permission application for Kanturk Community Hospital will be lodged at the end of Q4, 2018 with the tender to issue in Q2, 2019.

Planning for Millstreet Community Hospital will be applied for in Q1, 2019 with tendering to commence in Q3, 2019.

He said: "I have been working hard to pressure the Government and the HSE to make progress on these projects. Delays were experienced earlier in the process, and we cannot allow any further delays to slow down the works.

"We need to see progress on both projects. Both hospitals are very important local facilities that are relied heavily upon by patients and families alike. The refurbishment works are crucial to ensure a better quality of care for patients, and as the local TD, I will continue to fight for the completion of these works as quickly as possible."
