A consultation has been launched on the proposed next phase of Newry's Public Realm works.
The works will focus on 'Lower Hill Street/John Mitchell Place' and 'Its Associated Side Streets'. They involve the installation of new paving and kerbing on the footways, new decorative street lighting, street furniture, tree planting and the under-grounding of overhead services.
The draft scheme proposals will be put on display in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre from Monday 01 October until Friday 12 October 2018. The proposals can also be viewed and commented on through the Council's social media sites.
The consultants will also be available on Wednesday 10 October 2018 at 6pm in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre to give a presentation on the scheme and to discuss the proposals in more detail.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairman, Councillor Mark Murnin said: "We would strongly encourage both the general public and traders, in particular, to come along, view the proposals and feed their comments into the process."
The official timescale for the scheme will be confirmed in early 2019.
