A major road reconstruction project has been announced in Co Louth.
Work will be carried out on the N53 National Secondary Road from Hackballscross to Rassan.
The N53 between the two towns will be closed from 09-12 October to allow the works to take place.
Louth County Council has outlined a diversion route for motorists:
• West bound traffic (Dundalk to Castleblaney): From Hackballscross (junction of N53 with LP-31250) travel southeast along the N53 to junction 17 on the M1 Motorway. Enter the M1 Motorway and travel south, exiting at Junction 16, enter the N52 (Dundalk to Ardee Road) and continue into Ardee. Turn right off the Dundalk Road roundabout for the N2 (Derry Road) and continue to Castleblaney, via Carrickmacross.
• Eastbound - Above route in reverse.
