Kelbuild To Carry Out Conservation Works At Swords Castle

Kelbuild Limited has been selected to carry out conservation works at Swords Castle.

Work on Phase 2 will begin soon, however the castle will remain open.

The castle's regeneration will provide visitors to the castle even more opportunity to explore the historic site as the works will see a replacement of the perimeter ramparts with a walkway.

County Architect, Fionnuala May, said: "The works will allow public access to part of the castle walls facilitating viewing of the castle itself and Swords. This phase will also see consolidation of the East Tower and repairs to the Chapel roof."

Work is expected to be completed by the end of March 2019.
