Pat Keogh Construction is to deliver a new nine-home development in Clonlara, Co Clare.
Main construction works will commence on-site in mid-November.
The development will comprise of a mix of two-bed, three-bed and four-bed units in a range of single and two storey houses.
It is being completed on behalf of Clare County Council with funding from Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government under the Rebuilding Ireland Programme.
The design team was led by Hassett Leyden & Associates (Architect & Civil Structural Engineers), and also included Matt O'Mahony & Associates (M&E Engineers) and Tom McNamara & Ptnrs (Quantity Surveyor).
Mayor of Clare and Clonlara resident, Councillor Michael Begley, said: "This new housing scheme will complement the existing Clare County Council development of 12 units at Glór na Srutha which was delivered in 2014. The nine homes will address the housing needs of the village and surrounding area and most importantly, will provide new homes for families and elderly tenants enabling them to live in close proximity to the village and amenities."
The involvement of the local community and Elected Members has been key to the development of the scheme design and layout. Pat Dowling, Chief Executive of Clare County Council, added: "The Council endeavours to build communities and not just homes and I hope the future residents of this housing scheme will enjoy an exceptional quality of life within the Clonlara community."
The Clonlara development is one of nine capital construction projects for Clare County Council including other sites in Feakle, Shannon, Ennis and Quilty. These projects will result in a minimum of 144 social homes being delivered directly by Clare County Council over the next two to three years.
