A new 54-bed hotel has been announced in Lisburn, creating 75 new jobs for the area.
Beannchor Group managing director Bill Wolsey, the owner of Belfast's Merchant and Bullitt hotels, unveiled the company's plans for the hotel.
The new £4m development will be situated in Lisburn Square on a site comprising the former Argos store and adjoining first floor space.
Subject to planning approval, the hotel is expected to open in summer 2019.
SDLP Business Spokesperson Pat Catney MLA welcomed the news, saying: "Lisburn is a fantastic city with a growing tourism industry and this development will go a long way to providing first class accommodation to tourists choosing to visit here.
"This will be a significant economic boost for Lisburn, creating jobs and kick-starting many other proposed development opportunities in the city.
"I wish them all the best and look forward to seeing the plans come together."
Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council's Development Committee, also voiced his delight at the continued development of Lisburn city centre.
He added: "Today's announcement, for plans for a hotel in Lisburn Square, demonstrates confidence in the development of Lisburn City Centre.
"Tourism growth, ongoing regeneration and new business, in keeping with the Belfast Region City Deal plans, with a potential new hotel right in the City Centre would bring about substantial economic benefits, new jobs and opportunities. I look forward to this being explored further through the Council's Planning Committee under its due process and procedures."
