Construction News Image
Consultation is underway on the future development of Delamont Country Park in Co Down.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council welcomed local residents to a drop-in event today, 01 November, at Heron's Nest in the park, to help shape ideas for the development of the area. The event took place from 10am to 4pm.

Situated on the Shores of Strangford Lough, Delamont Country Park is a beautiful 200 acre park, renowned for its woodland and countryside walks, with amazing views across the Lough and towards the Mourne Mountains. Newry, Mourne and Down District Council values the importance of this area as a growing visitor destination within the District and welcomes stakeholder views on how the park should be developed over the next five to 10 years.

Chairman of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Councillor Mark Murnin said: "The Council welcomes your views on how Delamont Country Park, one of our district's most popular parks, should be developed. We are looking at all aspects of developing the Park, including its resources and its facilities.

"Our Masterplan will build on what is already available and it is critical that those who use the Park are able to tell us what they want. This will ensure that the Park meets and indeed exceeds the expectations of both locals and visitors alike."
