Irish Water's €19 million upgrade project for Co Louth's Staleen Water Treatment Plant is progressing, with plans in place to improve the Roughgrange pumping station.
The station will undergo essential works next week to prepare for the commissioning of the newly constructed pipeline.
The new pipeline will replace the original pipeline that supplies water from the River Boyne to the Staleen Water Treatment Plant.
Louth County Council is working with Irish Water to deliver the scheme.
When complete, it will ensure that the communities of South Louth and East Meath have a safer, more secure and more reliable water supply.
