Galway property company Burkeway Homes has been granted planning permission for a new €60 million development in Bearna.
An Bord Pleanála approved the plans for 197 homes on the Trusky East site.
This approval comes after similar plans were rejected earlier this year due to the lack of sufficient density and mix of housing types.
Burkeway reviewed its initial proposal and lodged new plans in August 2018.
The new application includes one and two bed apartments, two and three bed duplexes as well as three and four bed semi-detached and four bed detached homes.
The homes will be positioned carefully around the Trusky Stream, forming a large open central greenway amenity space with pocket parks and playgrounds in addition to an AstroTurf playing pitch. The site will also incorporate a community room.
A pedestrian pathway along the Bearna to Moycullen Road L1321 from Cnoc Fraoigh to the village will be delivered during the first phase of construction.
