John Cradock has landed a €5 million contract to deliver a redevelopment scheme in Clanbrassil Street and St Nicholas' Quarter in Dundalk, Co Louth.
The Kildare-based civil engineer will develop wider granite footpaths, asphalt parking bays, planting and seating areas, and upgrade public lighting in the area. It will also improve the pedestrian crossings and declutter the footpaths.
The Clanbrassil Street & St Nicholas' Quarter Rejuvenation Scheme is being completed on behalf of Louth County Council, and is expected to commence on 07 January 2019.
Chief Executive of Louth County Council, Joan Martin said: "The contract value for the Clanbrassil Street & St Nicholas' Quarter Rejuvenation Scheme is in the region of €5m, which represents a considerable investment in the town of Dundalk by Louth County Council and by the European Regional Development Fund, which is part-funding the works.
"The Council is looking forward to the continued regeneration of Dundalk town centre, building on the success of the Market Square project with the transformation of this area of the town."
