Burst Water Main Repaired In Athlone

A burst water main has been repaired in Athlone, after 75 properties were left without water until 6am this morning, 19 December.

The Garnafailagh area of Athlone town was impacted by the problem.

Irish Water worked in partnership with Westmeath County Council to solve the issue.

The main had affected the reservoir feeding Athlone over the past number of weeks.

An alternative water supply was made available at Cornamagh Pitch & Putt Club during the outage.

Irish Water has apologised for any inconvenience caused to locals.
