Deane Public Works is to commence repairs on the sewer network along the Lisburn Road in Belfast.
Faults were found in the sewer in the Ferndale Court/Maryville Avenue area after investigations took place to identify the cause of out of sewer flooding.
Sheet piling will be installed to stabilise the ground adjacent to the railway, followed by the repair of the sewer line.
Preparation work has already commenced on the site, located within Translink NI Railways property, which will involve the clearance of vegetation along this section of the line, as well as some trial excavations to locate existing cables.
Following the completion of preparation work, the repairs will begin on Friday 18 January.
The NI Water project will be completed during night time hours between 12 midnight and 5.30am.
It is expected to take two weeks to complete.
