David Walsh Civil Engineering has been appointed to deliver water mains improvements in Drogheda Town, Co Louth.
The €3.2 million Irish Water project will involve replacing 6km of ageing mains with new plastic pipes.
Work has commenced on the project and is scheduled for completion by May 2019.
Paul Hickey, Irish Water, said: "The replacement of these ageing water mains in Drogheda will improve security of supply to homes and businesses in the town. Replacing the existing water mains with new modern pipes will ensure a safe and secure water supply is delivered to customers."
The project is being delivered on behalf of Irish Water and Louth County Council.
