Northern Ireland contractor H&J Martin has laid the last beam on a new 263-home development in Manchester.
A topping out ceremony was held yesterday, 06 February, to celebrate the key construction milestone.
The local firm is carrying out the construction works on the 18-storey Outwood Wharf Phase 1 Project in Salford, which includes a mix of apartments and townhouses.
H&J Martin is also utilising off-site prefabrication on the build, with 3,064 precast units designed and installed by SCC Design Build. The brick façade is cast onto the concrete panels and the windows are fitted and glazed in the SCC factory. The final pieces were installed during the topping out ceremony.
The scheme is being delivered on behalf of Outwood Developments and Invesco Real Estate.
Jonathan Gwynne, Director of Outwood Developments Ltd and John German, Senior Director – Residential Investments, Invesco Real Estate, commented: "Invesco Real Estate and Outwood Developments congratulate H&J Martin and SCC on topping out Outwood Wharf. The H&J Martin team have capitalised fully the benefits offered to both build programme and environment by the SCC system."
The entire structure was completed across 10 months, with the fit out and installation of kitchens, bathrooms and joinery now to take place in the building.
Work is scheduled for completion on the scheme in Summer 2019.
