Plans are taking shape for a major flood scheme in south Belfast as ground investigation works begin on the Upper Lisburn Road.
The preparatory works will involve a number of trial excavations, which are being carried out to establish ground conditions and the location of existing services, ahead of the scheme. This work is expected to take four days to complete.
Official work will begin on the Sicily/Marguerite Park scheme on Saturday 16 February at 6.30am and continue through to Sunday 17 February at 7pm. The final project works will be delivered between 09-10 March.
BSG Civil Engineering is delivering the project on behalf of NI Water.
