Work is underway to address problematic water mains in Muirhevnamore, Dundalk.
GMC Utilities Group is replacing 2.7km of ageing mains with new plastic pipes, as part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme.
The project will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connecting it to the customers' water supply.
When complete, the upgrades will ensure a more secure water supply for local customers.
Traffic management will be in place throughout the works, which are expected to be completed by mid-April.
